Very cold in an old section of the pub. Took 1hr 15 minutes to receive our main meals. Very polite staff and good quality food although our meals were served Luke warm but we didn&rsquo;t want to complain as we had appointments to get to and just needed to eat and leave asap.

Fox house

Nice ambience, and good pub style food once it does arrive - service was on the slow side. Chef apparently forgot an element in one of our desserts, we had to ask them to check against the menu, and no apology.

We had a lovely evening at the Fox House tonight. The food was great and the portions were generous. What made the evening were the friendly staff, who couldn&apos;t do enough for us. I would like to mention Lola who made the evening fun and enjoyable even though she was rushed off her feet. We have decided to return for a family birthday in March, hope everyone enjoys it like we did.

Amazing food. Lovely server Emma who was very attentive and accommodating.  Nice atmosphere would visit again and recommend to others!

Good service

Went here today with friends and our dogs.  Pleasantly surprised to see how well run it was compared to our last visit early November!   Mark and his staff made us feel welcome.  Considering how busy it was, we were looked after very well, food was piping hot and fresh, I&apos;m so glad we booked in advance as it was packed as normal.  Will definitely be back again, well worth over an hours travel that we do   Thank you x

Never been in a pub so busy in my entire life! Mark, Claire and their team made us very welcome from the off, I understand they are new management and looking forward to see what they do with the place in the coming months!  Food was hot and delicious!  Even better we could take the dogs in and they were made as welcome as we were ,  100% recommend but book in advance as it seems an extremely popular place!!

Went for a hike in the area. Our friend had booked a table, but we turned up early and it was packed.   The staff were able to move our booking slightly forward and we were seated 30 mins before.   Our waitress Lola seated us and was excellent in taking our orders. She understood the need for additional gravy and boy did she deliver.   We had two full Sunday lunches and the ladies had veg wellington.   Perfection. Can&apos;t wait to ride the gravy boat again.

Great food, and staff, big mention to Adrian and John both of whom were very helpful and attentive. All meals were beautifully presented and great quality. Well worth a visit.

This is the first time at fox house, we thoroughly enjoyed the food,The service was excellent, we will definitely be back.And we will be telling all our friends.

The food was lovely, but the service not so.We booked on for 4.30, after a walk in Longshaw.A long wait for our main course &amp; an even longer wait for our desserts.So we cancelled the dessert order &amp; asked for the bill.Our server came &amp; apologised for our long wait.There did not seem enough staff on at the Fox House today, to cope with the number of people wanting to eat there.This is the first time that we received poor service, so we were disappointed.Thank you

My friend &amp; I walk at Longshaw quite regularly &amp; always finish with a meal at The Fox House. Good quality food in a pleasant atmosphere &amp; friendly waiting on staff.Thank you

The food was excellent and was the nicest I have had, having dined there many times. I recommend the chicken burger in particular. The staff were pleasant and efficient. Highly recommended. Thank you.

Both had the carvery, choosing turkey and lamb meats.  Meat and vegetables excellent.  Pity no roast potatoes available on that day due to unsatisfactory supply quality.  Would recommend and would visit again
